That is the name of the new rotating trophy given to the winning team at the World Puzzle Championships. It was commissioned by the organizers of the 1996 WPC in Romania from the Romanian sculptor Alexandru Ghidius. It has a granite base (making it rather heavy to carry in one's luggage, but worth the effort) and a Lucite (we think) top, which is many-layered and has wonderful internal reflections as a result. There are three plaques on the base: the one on the front says "Campionatul Mondial de Rebus / World Puzzle Championship" and the other, on the side of the trophy (and therefore not visible in the photo) lists the locations and winning teams of the first four (so far) WPC's: 1992 New York - USA, 1993 Brno - Czech Rep., 1994 Koln - Czech Rep., 1995 Brasov - USA. The small plaque at the bottom of the other side visible in the photo has the sculptor's name on it.

Update '98: As of 1998, a second plaque has been added to honor the winners from 96 and 97 (the Americans and Czechs, respectively). We promise to get our names engraved on it this time, unlike in 96... (thanks Vitye.)
