Lasaretti
The 11th World Puzzle Championship will be held at the Hotel Lasaretti in
Oulu, Finland.
The Lasaretti is pleasantly situated in the centre of town, on the Oulujoki
River delta area, a region that is significant for cultural and historical reasons.
It is located next to Ainola Park, the Tietomaa Science Centre and the City
Art Gallery. The Lasaretti has high quality and diverse accommodations for groups
who arrange meetings, conferences, festive occasions and other cultural events.
A wide selection of audio and video equipment is available.
The championship will be held in Celebration Hall, which seats 240-300 persons;
this attractive large room has good lighting and fresh air. The Restaurant Lasaretti
is a fully licensed restaurant. Linna Meeting room, where the WPF General Assembly
will be held, has a beautiful view overlooking the Oulujoki River.
There are well-equipped double rooms (only a few singles), sauna and swimming
pool at the Hotel Lasaretti. All the rooms are air-conditioned and available
for non-smokers and those suffering from allergies. Rooms have a minibar, telephone,
television, radio, video channel, washroom, shower, hair dryer, bathrobes and
towels.
There is no smoking permitted anywhere in the building; all of the rooms are
for non-smokers.
Unfortunately there are not enough rooms for all who will take part in the
11th World Puzzle Championship in Oulu, so we also offer accommodations in another
good hotel, which is even more near the centre of the town. This hotel is about
ten-fifteen minutes easy and straight walk to the Hotel Lasaretti where the
competition will be held and where all the meals will be served. This second
hotel has nice, well-equipped single rooms where smoking is permitted.
