2003 WPC SURVEY

Puzzlers who competed this year: your team captain received this survey and was asked to forward it to you. We would appreciate it if you would use that file to enter your answers and e-mail it back. If you did not receive the file: ask your captain!

The Puzzles

1. How would you rate this year's WPC puzzles in quantity? 1 = far too few, 2 = somewhat too few, 3 = about right, 4 = somewhat too many, 5 = far too many

2. How would you rate the puzzles for the appropriate amount of originality? 1 = far too many old types, 2 = somewhat too many old types, 3 = appropriate mix of old and new, 4 = somewhat too many new types, 5 = far too many new types

3. How would you rate the puzzles for overall difficulty? 1 = much too easy, 2 = somewhat too easy, 3 = about right, 4 = somewhat too hard, 5 = much too hard

4. How would you rate the puzzles for fairness, on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 = very unfair up to 5 = very fair? 1 2 3 4 5

5. How would you rate the puzzles for diversity, with 1 = not nearly enough diversity up to 5 = just the right amount of diversity? 1 2 3 4 5

6. How would you rate the puzzles for overall pleasure provided, with 1 = not pleasurable up to 5 = very pleasurable? 1 2 3 4 5

The Playoff

21. How would you rate the playoff stage, with 1 = not good up to 5 = very good? 1 2 3 4 5

22. If you attended the WPC in Oulu in 2002, how would you rate the elimination format used in 2003 versus the single round used in 2002? 1 = much worse, 2 = somewhat worse, 3 = about the same, 4 = somewhat better, 5 = much better, 6 = didn't attend in 2002

23. Overall, what was your opinion of the playoff?

24. The championship had less excursions and more time and space for socialization. How would you rate that?
