14th World Puzzle Championship, Eger (Hungary)

After an exciting play-off round, Ulrich Voigt from Germany ended up first, right before runner-up Wei-Hwa Huang (USA), and Niels Roest (Netherlands). Germany won the team contest.

The WPC in Eger was wonderful. Both the hotel and food were great. The "extra" evening programs were fun. The Wednesday night farewell party was terrific. The officials and scorers were plentiful and capable. And everyone says the puzzles were fine. Nice job!

During the WPF General Assembly the following was decided:

· B-teams will no longer be permitted. At future WPC's there will be only official competitors: either in the A-team, or if there is no such team for this country, as part of an official UN-team

· The WPC 2007 will be in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil(!)

· Vítezslav Koudelka and Peter Ritmeester were re-elected as members of the WPF board
